THE DESTINATION

LOS CABOS, BAJA

Los Cabos, located in Baja California Sur, is made up of two main towns: Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo. The two towns are about 30 minutes apart but feel like completely different worlds.

Cabo San Lucas sits at the very tip of the peninsula and is the larger, livelier of the two. It’s known for its luxury resorts, great restaurants, and vibrant nightlife. While it’s more bustling and tourist-focused, Cabo San Lucas is also the hub for popular water activities—like whale watching and boat trips to the iconic El Arco rock formation.

San José del Cabo, on the other hand, is a quieter colonial town. It has a charming, relaxed atmosphere filled with art galleries, cafés, boutiques, and historic streets. If you’re drawn to a more traditional Mexican town, San José del Cabo is the place to be. You can easily spend hours wandering the cobblestone streets, discovering colorful shops, and soaking in the slower pace.

Questions & Answers

Are children welcome?

As much as we love your little ones, we have decided to have an adults only event. But, we have resources available to watch your littles, so feel free to reach out to us and we can help.

May I take and post photos?

We are having an unplugged ceremony and kindly ask you to leave the ceremony photos to our talented photographer, Julieta. However, please feel free to take and post photos from the reception, welcome drinks, and boat day. Please tag us in any photos or videos you post on social media.

What should I wear?

Inspiration mood boards are incoming. Please check back!

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

All events are outdoors. Evenings can be cool in the desert, so we recommend a light jacket or wrap for evening events.

What will the weather be like?

December is one of our favorite times in Cabo - think warm sunshine, sparkling blue water, and stunning sunsets over the sea. With average daytime temperatures around 78-82°F and cooler evenings around 60-65°F, its perfect for beach days and open-air dinners.

Will there be transportation to the wedding?

Yes! Group transportation will be arranged from The Cape.

Is there an after party after the reception?

The reception will end at 11:00 PM, but downtown Cabo San Lucas has vibrant nightlife if you want to continue the party. Just be sure to hydrate before bed so you are ready for an afternoon of margaritas on the sea on Saturday.

What if I have a dietary restriction?

We are happy to accommodate any dietary needs. Please let us know about your restrictions at the time you RSVP.

How do I RSVP?

Do I need to speak Spanish to get around Los Cabos?

While Spanish is the local language, English is widely spoken in Los Cabos. Although you won't need to be fluent in Spanish, attempting to speak Spanish - even if just basic greetings - is always polite and appreciated.

What currency do I need?

Mexican pesos are the local and preferred currency, and you will often get better deals if you pay in pesos. However, most places accept US dollars as well. If you are going to exchange dollars for pesos, avoid doing so at the airport. The best exchange rate on cash is usually through a local ATM. If you are paying with a credit card, you may be asked whether you would like to pay in dollars or pesos. We recommend pesos, as your bank is likely to give you a better exchange rate than the local vendors and using pesos helps the local economy.

What else should I do when I'm in Baja?

There is so much to do. An activities guide is forthcoming with recommended restaurants and places to visit/things to do.

Do you have a registry?

Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ever receive, and the time and cost of traveling to celebrate with us is more than enough. If you feel inclined to give an additional gift, we would be thrilled to receive a contribution to our honeymoon fund. Thank you for being a part of our journey!
